Scottish Appaloosa Breed Show 2010

September brought around the 2010 Scottish Breed Show. Howes Country Centre in Fife held the event again this year. The show brought variety of new sponsers and new co-ordinator Anna Bloch to the scene this year. Jill Gunn kindly took the judging of the Appaloosa classes and Amanda Sedgewick kindly stepped into judge the spotted ring after a cancellation.



Appaloosa classes kicked off in ring one with Mr & Mrs Stevenson's Best Condition Class, proudly won ny Bryden Nichol with
Spot Prefection who went on to take Stirlingshire B&B Two Year Old Class. Judges Colour Choice classes took place next, Ruth McLean with Capitall Quinn took home the title in the Equss Health Scotland Blanket Coloured Class. Ruth later went on to take Rebel Rider In Hand Gelding 4 years + title and Robinsons Country Leisure Reverse Male Champion place. G Reekie Leopard Coloured clas was won by Chameral Cortez Murphee shown by H Baylss and Wearview Cochise shown by Claire Ford took home the Other Coloured Class title. This was not Claire's only win with Wearview Cochise, they went on to win Nostrilvets Ridden Stallion class.

Loch Leven Equine Practice kindly sponsored the Yearling class which saw Helen Sinclair with Oor Miss American Pie tak first place. Larkmeadow Spirit shown by K Moore received first place in the Bayleigh Neil Three Year Old class. The Meikle Obney Appaloosa Stud sponsored the Appaloosa Broodmare class where Spotswood Tiz Was with Ben Wentink took first place, the ring then moved on to the Appaloosa Foal class by Scotland AI Centre where Ben had another win with Firefly who went on to take Intelligent Worming's Appaloosa Supreme Champion title of 2010.



Lynn Beattie had a good day with
Centaurs Summer Daze taking first place in Scotia Appaloosa 4 year + In Hand Mares Class and Elizabeth Fraser took first place with new horse Nocona Black Elk in the ridden Mare or Gelding class sponsered by J A McLean. The In Hand Stallion Class saw Aethereal Amassis II take the first place title kindly sponsored by Kennedy's Country Store.

Toni Green from Orkney not only took the In Hand Stallion class but had a great day in the spotted ring with Aethereal Amassis II, taking first place in Scottish & Northern Equestian In Hand Pony Class, Loch Leven Equine Practice Best Condition class, Duchally Country Estates Judges Colour Choice class, and then taking the Middlepart Farm, Stables and Stud Spotted Supreme Champion title.



The spotted ring also saw
Aethereal Alaris by Aethereal Amassi II taking the Motor Vehicle Services In Hand Spotted Youngester title. Barbara Nichol with Spot Me If U Can came first place in the In Hand Spotted Horse Class by Canongate Crafts.

Spotless Reputation recieved first place with K McAlonie in the Young Handler's class and first place in the Ridden Spotted Pony class with L McAlonie. Jean Barbour with Louis took the Shand Partnership Ridden Spotted Horse class title. The open veteran class saw K Coatsworth with Tiptoe Royal Blue take first place.



The show had fantastic support from several additional supporters this year including Equetech, Horslyx, Carrots Equestian, Horses with Attitude, Bridleway, Halley's Feeds, Keratex, Dengie, Dodson & Horrell, Top Spec and many more...



Organiser Anna Bloch would like to wish a huge thank you for all the supports from competitors, Sponpsors, Spectators, Prize Donators and everyone else involved and looks forward to seeing you all next year! Scottish Appaloosa Breed Show 2011 on Saturday October 1st.
